db user "postgres" cannot access tables in tutorial

Postby frankwmason on Wed Mar 10, 2010 12:35 pm
I am testing Jitterbit for possible adoption to replace custom scripts. I have completed both the client and server installations and all services appear to be up and running. When I attempt to run the DBtoXMLProcess operation, the client returns no records. When I connect directly to the postgres installed by the server installer as user postgres I find that that are no permissions associated with the OrderDetails or OrderHeader tables and they appear to be owned by user "jitterbit". I am unable to grant permissions as user postgres and don't understand the ramifications of changing the ownership of these tables on the application installation. I also doubt that I would be able to change ownership since I can't augment permissions. Can you help? This is a Jitterbit 3.0.0.70 community installation on windows XP using the Jitterbit provided postgres install.
Are you talking about the tables in the JitterbitTutorial database? That database is owned by the jitterbit postgresql user. The postgres user should be able to connect and see the data in those tables though. You could try to connect as the jitterbit user. The password for that user is available in jitterbit.conf. If you can't figure it out could you send me your jitterpak?

Thanks Emanuel,
I am out of the office. Sorry for the late reply. It didn't occur to me to look for the jitterbit user in the conf file I'll use that to move forward.
Thanks again,
Frank
