Bunzl Brasil Group creates B2B Ecommerce Platform with Support From Jitterbit

June 11, 2021

Bunzl Brasil Group leverages Jitterbit’s Wevo iPaaS solution to release a digital sales channel and streamline workflow automation.

The scenario of the Covid-19 pandemic has accelerated the digitalization of businesses and put a spotlight on the importance of ecommerce. Not just for consumers, but also for companies operating on the B2B model.

That’s the case with Bunzl Brasil Group, which has released a digital sales channel with support from Jitterbit, a data and systems integration expert.

The corporation, which sells personal protection equipment, has its own ecommerce portal for companies that wish to resell their products.

Released in October of 2020, currently the project has over 300 registered sellers and around 10,000 SKUs in stock.

In order to keep up with this demand, their ecommerce platform needed to satisfy four fundamental requirements:

  1. Be totally automated
  2. Ensure fast navigation
  3. Offer data security
  4. Be available full-time, meaning it needed to be operational at all times, day and night

“When a B2B digital process is implemented, it’s necessary for all of the company’s systems to be in harmony. It’s fundamental that this sales channel is able to show and receive up-to-date information from several areas, like logistics, finance, and management, among others,” said Diogo Lupinari, VP of LATAM Region.

The company played a critical role in the project’s success. In order to avoid server unavailability during transactions, Jitterbit and Bunzl created an intermediary layer of information on the cloud via a relational database.

That means that data traveled from the group’s systems to the ecommerce platform through that solution.

With the Wevo iPaaS solution, all the information generated in Bunzl’s systems, like stock and financial control, were sent to that database and, afterwards, to the Magento ecommerce platform used by the group and implemented by Trezo, one of the main Latin American companies specializing in the deployment of the Magento ecommerce platform.

“One of the main challenges of B2B ecommerce is channel conflict, especially for companies that already have a strong distribution channel and a well-fed productive chain. Caution is needed when tracing a digital strategy in order to avoid possible channel shock,” said Armando Leite, CEO and CTO of Trezo.

That way, even if the company’s servers were to go offline, customers could still get their invoices and the systems updated themselves in a quick, efficient, secure, and transparent way.

Since its release, the platform has never had an availability issue that affected the profitability of the business.

“Any noise in a digital B2B negotiation generates more resistance in the organization itself and in our customers. Everything needs to work perfectly; otherwise, the whole journey becomes useless and returns to ground zero. With Wevo iPaaS, we’ve achieved a very solid and intelligent solution,” said Daniel Castello, digital solutions manager at Bunzl.

Working in Brazil since 2008, Bunzl Plc. Group is present in the segments of personal protection equipment, hygiene and cleaning, healthcare, and food services. Founded in 1854 in London, UK, the group stands out in the fields of distribution and logistics and operates in the Americas, Europe, Asia, and Oceania.
